Journal Entry:
January 9th:
"What struck me first out of the airport was the weather, the colours, and the wildlife. That morning, the air was chill and the sun was strong. Nairobi being less than 200km from the equator, day and night are of equal length with consistent temperatures across days of the week. Nairobi's elevation makes evenings and nights cooler. This weather made for splendid green vegetation year long. A green my eyes had to adapt to after leaving the white and grey of Montreal in January. The rusty red of the soil and the roofs also caught my attention. On our first ride in Kenya from the airport to Kolping Center, we already see new wildlife that so far I've only seen on TV or in Zoos. Zebra, Impala, baboon, and 15 species of birds are already logged in my list from this first day.
